Monday night I tugged on my skinny jeans, slipped into something sparkly and ventured uptown to Lincoln Center to hear the London Symphony Orchestra, as conducted by Valerie Gergiev.
I don’t often cross 14th street, but it’s nice to remind myself of all the amazing things this city has to offer. Why live in Manhattan if you’re not going to take advantage of the arts, museums, theaters and visiting talent who also find this city to be fantastic?
My friend and I had an amazing evening, listening to the LSO and watching Gergiev in his element. I sat next to a beautiful elderly gentleman who was conducting Brahms in his own manner from his seat. Seeing how much he enjoyed the performance made my night all the better.
If you’re looking for something different to do tonight, I highly recommend you head uptown to hear LSO perform on the last evening of their NYC tour.
And wear something sparkly.
