I think it’s fair to say Superstorm Sandy took East Coasters by surprise. Sure, our summers can be heavily humid and our winters bone-chillingly cold, but rarely do we sustain anything on the level of natural disaster. We were all a bit skeptical of Sandy’s prowess, stocking up on essentials and jokingly sharing photos of our junk food stashes and liquor cabinets. Honestly, a laugh is always good medicine in scary and trying times.
